Glory in the Garden

In the spring of this year, I was thrilled to find seeds for moon flowers. Over the last several years I have been in awe of seeing God's glory and experiencing God's love through the gentle glow of the moon radiating the glory of the Lord against the night sky. The glow of the moon caused me to be still and know that God is God. As I stood in awestruck wonder of my Creator, He reached in and touched my heart with His love and filled me with His peace and joy. Thank you, Lord. The first time the moon really caught my attention in a unique way was in 2018 when I saw the moon quietly adorning the morning sky, and I thought, "you could say "Good Morning, Moon." That day, I went home and wrote a story about the wonder of a young boy imagining a conversation with the moon in the morning, curious about what it saw, heard and did at night. In 2016, while teaching a summer STEAM class for 4th graders, I learned that the glow of the moon helps sea turtles navigate to the ocean. The moon is a guiding light, like a night light in the sky for us.
This story became a book called "Good Morning, Luna/Buenos Días, Moon" that became a favorite for young children who also have a fascination with the moon. I love that they, too get excited about the moon. Childlike wonder is the greatest place to be in connecting with the Lord in nature.
I also enter into this peace with the Lord in my garden. I have enjoyed my garden of zinnias, and also have admired the moon flowers of a neighbor as I take evening walks. She shared with me that her grandmother planted these flowers and that they remind her of her grandmother. The flowers open in the evening and are quite beautiful under the light of the moon. So, I was excited to plant the moon flower seeds this year along with morning glory seeds.
I realized that the moon flower seeds are also named "evening glories." This meant so much to me since the moon has helped me to deeper meditate on the word "glory" and the glory of the Lord. I believe His glory is His Presence. When I am still, I become more aware of His Presence around me and within me. So, I planted these seeds along with the morning glory seeds. I anticipated the moon flowers growing and spreading like those of my neighbor's moon flowers, but it was the morning glory leaves that really took over. Large leaves grew on the vine that climbed the trellis. I planted the seeds in May. Each month, I anticipated the flowers.
On September 9, 2025, I leaned into the Lord in prayer with an open heart, full of gratitude for the quiet evening and the radiant moon shining above me. I asked the Lord what He wanted me to know, and the song "Show me your glory" came to my spirit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlQ-Te_UYXI

The next day, I went to the backyard to water my flowers and cut a few zinnias to share. Then, I turned around to check on my moon flowers and morning glories. Joy filled my hearts and a smile spread across my face when I noticed my first moonflower had bloomed! It was RADIANT, glorifying its Creator in all of its beauty. I knelt to take a picture and then gently touched the leaves.

The pedals were like silk. So delicate. It opened up and revealed a star in the middle. Thank you, Lord. I thank God for showing me His glory in the opening of this first moon flower/morning glory. I only saw this bloom one time, and I am so thankful to have gotten a picture. The flowers close again in the daytime. (update the day after publishing this blog-I just noticed a flower that has stayed open in the afternoon in the shade of the huge leaves that have provided shade for it.) Since the first bloom, I have noticed a few more blooms. Each time, it has been after a time of seeking the Lord.

The first moon flower (evening glory) opened on September 10th, 2025, the day after the Lord put on my heart the song, "Show me your glory." Today, September 25, 2025, I am reflecting on the last couple of weeks and noticing the Scriptures the Lord was highlighting to me during this time.
On September 9th, the Lord had encouraged me with John 15th about being in an intimate relationship with the Lord and remaining in life union with Him in order to produce fruit.
"So you must remain in life-union with me, for I remain in life-union with you. For as a branch severed from the vine will not bear fruit, so your life will be fruitless unless you live your life intimately joined to mine." -John 15:4
I had also taken a picture of one of a passage I read that day, Psalm 34:4-5, that has been a passage that has been a life passage for me the last couple of years.
"He freed me from all my fears! Gaze upon him, join your life with his, and joy will come. Your faces will glisten with glory." (TPT version)
"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame." (NIV)
This Bible passage has also been put into a song, which I listen to on repeat because it brings joy and freedom to my soul. This song is anointed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOzf0VrDNGU
As we gaze upon our Jesus, He fills us with His light, love, and glory. Thank you, Jesus. I have experienced this so many times, from being still under the light of the moon and in the garden with Jesus. There, my Jesus calms all of my fears, and He fills me with song and joy. Thank you, Lord.
As I type this, the Lord is filling me with great joy as I also listen to Psalm 34, Taste and See, by Shane and Shane. The Lord is so good, and I pray that you feel His joy and love as you listen to this song as well, releasing all of your fears and worries to Him, and in exchange you will be able to open to receive His love, peace, and joy. In His Presence, we are safe to open up and receive. We can hide our hearts in Him. There, He guards our hearts with His peace. Thank you, Lord.
"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ." - 2 Corinthians 4:6 (NIV)
“Let brilliant light shine out of darkness,”
is the one who has cascaded his light into us—the brilliant dawning light of the glorious knowledge of God as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ."
-2 Corinthians 4:6 (TPT)
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." -Colossians 3:15 (NIV)

As I consider the silky, delicate, radiant white leaves of the moon flower/evening glory, it reminds me of my own heart. My heart is sensitive, which is a blessing when I am able to be surrounded by the Lord, because there I find safety to open up. There, I can discover the glory of the Lord within me as I gaze into My Savior's eyes and trust Him to protect me.
Then, I close. I close to wait on the Lord. I wait for Him.

Just like the star within the morning glory flower, I believe each soul has a light within them, a star, a light to radiate the glory of our Lord, our Creator, as we open up to His love and light, the light of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is radiant to see a single star, but as more and more stars shine, they illuminate the darkness in a glorious way.
"Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life." -Philippians 2:15
On September 10th, I was tuning into a familiar ministry to me, Andrew Wommack Ministries. I have been encouraged by their ministry of unwavering faith for the last 4 years. Mr. Wommack is a trusted voice for me. So, when I heard him stop a broadcast and pray, I tuned in. He was joined by a gentleman whom I remember praying with such faith during the most recent inauguration. I could feel His faith and the Holy Spirit. So, when they began praying, I listened and felt the ruling peace of our Lord. I did not recognize the name of the gentleman for whom they prayed. I thought maybe he was someone who was a part of their ministry. They said they had just gotten word of his passing, and they were offering up a prayer for comfort and leaning into the Lord for wisdom and guidance in the days to come.
They spoke of Stephen from the Bible, a martyr who spoke boldly for the Truth with great power of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts.
“However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says:
“‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things?’ “You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him— you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it. ”But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
At this, they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul. While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep." -Acts 7:48-60
The gentleman whom they prayed for was Charlie Kirk, a name perhaps many did not know, but who the world now knows. Moreover, he has joined the cloud of witnesses, a saint whose faith in Jesus Christ has now become known in a way that has awakened the hearts of dormant stars who are now ready to shine for Jesus in the darkness. Glory to God! His courageous faith and love for Jesus and the hearts of the lost inspire us to say no to fear and yes to perfect love that casts out fear through the love of Jesus Christ. A call to faith over fear.
The evening of September 11th, I walked outside under the stars as I tuned into Andrew Wommack Ministries. They had scheduled Charlie Kirk to speak that night, the night after he was martyred for his faith- the leader of Turning Point ministries, whose life and death have caused many hearts to turn toward Jesus.
That evening, Andrew Wommack Ministries had worship and a panel speaking.
There was patriotism in a drama they presented that caused me to also reflect on the stars on the American flag. It made me think of the courageous faith of those who have gone before us, who have paved the way for freedom of speech, freedom of religion, but more importantly, a country founded on faith in a God who loves us with an everlasting love, whose love is more powerful than any darkness.
This love and light has a name. His name is Jesus Christ. God in the flesh. And He now resides in the body/temple of every believer as the Holy Spirit, who tells us the thoughts of our God, of our Jesus. We read His Word and as can still hear His voice within us if we are tune into the inner voice within us that longs to be heard, the Spirit speaking Truth and love that sets our souls free and brings light to the darkness. What is He saying today?
As I just typed this question, this verse came to my spirit,
"Rise and shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." -Isaiah 60:1
As I am also typing, I am listening to Twice Música's album, "Identidad," and I hear the artist singing "Eres luz en la oscuridad. Mi esperanza sólo en Ti" https://youtu.be/9lGaZYfgv44?si=jrJvlyUWH-KI35b5 (@17:48)
The album is called, "Identity," and the line means, "You are my light in the darkness. My hope only in you."
Thank you, Lord. He is our hope.
The answer is Jesus. Jesus, you are our living hope. We need you, Jesus. Shine Jesus, Shine.
I sense the Lord holding my right hand as I type. He is here. When I feel this, I am reminded of this verse.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41: 10
As I walked outside on September 11th and listened to the Andrew Wommack Ministries' broadcast under the night sky, I looked up and noticed a shooting star.
I am so in awe of my God. I love God winks that fortify my faith. How has the Lord captured your spirit's attention recently, reminding you of His loving Presence?
On Sunday, the worship leader sang, "He is for you, He is for you, He is for you," from Elevation Worship, Kari Jobe and Cody Carne's song, "The Blessing." I could feel the Lord's peace, healing and love descending on all of us, and as I looked around, I could see His Spirit filling those around me as they opened their arms and closed their eyes to gaze upon Him and receive, more aware of the kingdom realm than of the physical. This is where I believe the change and transformation happen into His glory. We enter into His glory as we gaze into the unseen realm that is within us and all around us.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. “Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip. Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy;" -Isaiah 60:1-5

Update: The morning glory flowers began blooming this week as I update the blog the second week of October. The flowers seem to have intermingled on the same vine. The moon flowers are white, and the morning glories are purple. They have the same shape, silky texture and star in the middle.
