Write out whatever is on your heart.
Then, set it aside and begin the meditation.
BREATHE. Breathe in. Breathe out. Pause.
REMEMBER the CROSS.
"Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." -Luke 23:34
Remember a time when someone showed you grace. GRACE.
Remember that your WORDS have the POWER of life and death. (Prov. 18:21)
Stop. Listen. PRAY.
Close your eyes.
Place your anger, frustration, worry in a box.
ACKNOWLEDGE the hurt. LEAVE it. RELEASE it.
“Cast your cares on Him for He cares for you.” (I Peter 5:7)
Imagine handing the box to the Lord.
Trust Him.
He....
....loves
.....you.
DIRECT your thoughts to HIM.
The name of Jesus is all-powerful. SPEAK it aloud.
Jesus, Victorious Jesus,
Risen One!
Prince of Peace, Emmanuel,
Savior of this World, Friend,
Lover of my soul, Heaven on Earth,
Protector, Intercessor
Thank you, Lord, for your love.
With all my heart, soul, mind and strength,
I seek you.
Holy Spirit, reign down, and fill me with all love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control as I worship my King! His name is Jesus!
SING to Jesus!
The greatest defeat of the Enemy working on our emotions is PRAISE. It is counter to how we are feeling. It redirects our focus to God and gives us a new perspective.
Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Listen. Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out. SMILE.
Imagine you are near a stream of flowing water.
Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out. Be at peace.
The Prince of Peace is with you. Be still.
Imagine giving Jesus a hug and RECEIVING His love.
Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out. Listen.
LISTEN for the gentle flow of water beside you.
Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out.
IMAGINE
Imagine a blue jay with its bright blue and white feathers flying gracefully, landing gently in front of you, looking up at you...do you see? God is getting your attention. He loves you. He understands. He has more surprises for you. Do you see them? Can you hear them? Can you feel them?
Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Smile and enjoy the peaceful sound of the water flowing over the rocks. Step into the stream and feel the water caressing your feet. The gentle water flows between the rocks seeming to know where to go. Follow the stream with your eyes.
Breathe. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Smile and look up.
Jesus is there with arms open wide and gentle eyes of love and understanding.
“Come my child and see.”
Imagine taking Jesus’ hand and allowing him to lead you. Around you are the songs of the cardinal and the chirp of the sparrow. You see a beautiful red cardinal opening its beak to sing, and you smile. God loves His Creation. And they sing with joy to Him. And He wants you to sing again too. Jesus turns to you and points to the sparrow.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” -Matthew 6:26-33 NIV
Imagine following Jesus along the stream and observing him. The birds fly to him and rest on his hand, his shoulder and his head.
You find yourself LAUGHING with JOY as you watch, and Jesus laughs too and looks at you with his kind eyes of love, HAPPY to see you SMILE.
